    SUDO Akira is Executive Director in charge of SIP/PRISM Council for Science, Technology and Innovation (CSTI), Cabinet Office, Government of Japan since 2018. He is a fellow to Toshiba Corporation since 2017.
    He joined Tokyo Shibaura Electric Co., Ltd. (Currently Toshiba Corporation) in 1980. He was promoted to the Director, Power and Industrial System Research and Development Center and Chief Technology Executive in 2006.
    He became an Executive Officer, Corporate Vice President (Director, Corporate Research & Development Center) in 2008, and a Representative Executive Officer, Corporate Senior Executive Vice President (Technology and Innovation Division, Corporate Research & Development Center, Cooperate Software & Engineering Center) in 2013.

    Diana Elizabeth Furchtgott-Roth

    Diana Furchtgott-Roth is the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Research and Technology at the US Department of Transportation. She seeks to ensure that research, development and technology activities across the Department and the 40 University Transportation Centers are fully aligned with the Department’s areas of interest. She manages the Department’s spectrum interests, including GPS and the 5.9 GHz band. She oversees the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, the Volpe National Transportation Systems Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and the Transportation Safety Institute in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
    Prior to joining USDOT, Diana was Acting Assistant Secretary for Economic Policy at the U.S. Department of Treasury. She has been a senior fellow and director of Economics21 at the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research and an adjunct professor of economics at The George Washington University. She previously served as Chief Economist of the U.S. Department of Labor; Chief of Staff of the President’s Council of Economic Advisers; and Deputy Executive Secretary of the White House Domestic Policy Council. Ms. Furchtgott-Roth is the author or coauthor of six books and hundreds of articles on economic policy. She received her BA in economics from Swarthmore College and her M.Phil. in economics from Oxford University.

    Patrick CHILD is Deputy Director General in DG Research and Innovation at the European Commission. He leads the policy for implementation, impact & sustainable investment strategies and is acting Director for the Clean Planet. This Directorate provides support to EU energy, transport, environmental, health, climate and industrial policies, promoting clean, reliable and secure energy production and use, safe and cleaner transport and urban systems as well as cleaner industry. As a member of the Board of DG Research and Innovation, he follows in particular research and innovation into climate action and clean energy and mobility technologies, and is the Commission representative of Mission Innovation (a coalition of 23 countries and the European Union, committed to doubling research in clean energy by 2020) and in the International Group of Earth Observations (GEO).
